Female candidate in business attire Your Interview panel will be expecting a properly dressed and professional appearing candidate, just as is with a Police Officer in uniform. Male candidate attire should be a suit and tie, and female candidate attire should be a pantsuit or skirt. Interview panels do not disqualify candidates based on attire alone, but if anyone should appear at an interview wearing jeans and a tee shirt, they most likely made their "first" and certainly, last impression.
Male candidate in business attire Project a professional and confident image. You will be escorted to the interview room by a Police Officer, one of the two members of your oral board. As you enter the room, smile, greet with a firm handshake and make eye contact. Remember, this is the beginning of a career in law enforcement where on many occasions you must interact with people you have never met.
